Maggie Gillette

Growing up outside of Chicago, Maggie loved fashion from the beginning.  One of her first words was “dresses” and her mom tells her that as a two year old she would give guests tours of her closet to people who came to visit.  Clearly, there was fashion in her future.    

College took Maggie to Nashville and Colorado and gave Maggie her first experience working at a nonprofit.  Working in nonprofits with women and children was something that Maggie quickly found a passion for. When she moved back to Chicago she pursued a career working at several nonprofits and schools in the city.  

While working in the Chicago Public Schools Maggie took the opportunity to spend her summer off studying fashion design and London College of Fashion.  Maggie loved being in the creative environment of fashion school.  This only increased her desire to find a way to merge the the worlds of fashion and philanthropy though at the time she was unsure how. 

Now as the owner of The Giving Bride, Maggie is able to create beautiful bridal lingerie and accessories while giving 10% of each purchase back to women’s charities combining her love of fashion and philanthropy.
