Last week seemed like a week to lay low.

Between the personal reasons-The week prior being packed business wise and the weather being completely grey and depressing in Chicago and larger reasons of watching the tragedies in Boston and Texas and flooding here it was pretty hard to think pretty thoughts and weddings.

But this is a new week and there’s a lot to do :)

This week I’m meeting with a new, wedding related, startup to talk about potential ways to work together.  I’m also sourcing fabric for a special order client and working on some special pieces for some brides I know personally which is always really fun and exciting.  Also hopefully getting some final lingerie samples back.

And, perhaps most importantly, my sister’s final wedding walkthrough.  Considering I’ve never been to her wedding venue I’m pretty excited.  I’ll try and see if I can get clearance to take a few sneak peek pictures.

And after the glamour of my website launch I am now going through all my receipts to do my taxes. 

The reality of being an entrepreneur. :)

My apologies if I’ve been a little “content light” on the blog lately, not that there’s anything wrong with posting tons of lovely wedding pictures obviously.  But I promise, this is because there’s a lot of other things going on behind the scenes.

A Belated Birthday Update-

I mentioned it before, but Friday was my birthday.  I fully admit, I chose to spend time with friends and family on Friday instead of doing my weekly update but for my birthday I’ll give myself a pass.

Last week I met with my pattern maker which officially put two new pieces of lingerie (both different styles of night gowns) into the production cycle.  

I’ve also been tweeking the website and I know that I’ve been saying this for a while, but its so close to launching.  Although I know that having the e-commerce up and running will create other tasks for me like customer management and shipping, getting that finished will be a huge weight off my chest.  

In addition, I’ve been working on some new veils and bridal head pieces to add to the website once it’s up and going.  

All and all a pretty productive week even with the time off for my birthday.  Getting ready to go at it all again this week!

This week has been all about juggling.

Our website it thisclose to being complete.  We’re just down to the details. Of course, the devil is in the details so yes, I am still sweating the small stuff here. :)

Although I’ve been focusing on my website launch, I have to keep focusing beyond that point for the sake of the business as a whole.  

So on the product development front I have scheduled 3 more designs (a pair of hipster underwear, a tank top, and a nightie) to go into production and if all goes well they’ll be done in three weeks!

I also scheduled a meeting with my pattern maker for next Friday so that I can get a few exciting new things started.  

There are big things ahead for The Giving Bride this year!
